CPR Training for your Summer Camp

We might be a ways off from summer, but summer camp will definitely come around again, and when it does you’re going to want to make sure that you are properly prepared. The cabins need to be cleaned, the land needs to be properly cared for, and some buildings might even need to be repaired. No matter what, you need to ensure that the area is ready for your new guests, and most importantly you need to make sure that your staff is properly trained. So what do we mean exactly when we say properly trained? There are a couple of different things, of course, the primary being that they are able to interact properly with the campers and perform first aid if needed. One of the most important types of first aid that can be administered is CPR, and while you will want to make sure everyone has CPR training on your staff, you also want it to be a last resort.

CPR Training – Preparation for the Last Resort 

As we said in the previous paragraph, CPR is always going to be the last resort, and for good reason – it’s just not something that you want to end up doing on a whim, and it’s not something that you want to actually be necessary. Before you can perform CPR a camper or staff member needs to be completely unresponsive, which means they are on the verge of death. CPR is a way to ‘bring them back,’ so to speak, and it can help to avert some of the nastiest disasters. 

Before you do administer CPR you will want to check and make sure that the individual is non-responsive and that they cannot be revived in any other way. Also keep in mind that this is going to require a considerable amount of training which you can arrange to furnish for your employees at a pretty agreeable cost. The best way to go about it, is to seek out CPR certification online just to make sure that your employees are properly equipped and ready to administer CPR at a moment’s notice.

Is CPR Training Online Worth It?

It is no secret that there has been some controversy over CPR training online, particularly in the question of whether or not it is as effective as standard classroom training. In truth, online CPR class and online CPR renewal have definitely come a long way since the beginning, and these days it is nearly identical so long as the individual is able to pay attention, complete the course work, and most importantly, work it all into their schedule.  

Make sure that your summer camp employees and volunteers are prepared and ready for the coming campers and avert any disasters that might be on the horizon – it’s more important than you might realize.
